1914 Indian 2- Speed 1914.1.115 This Indian is an excellent example of the restoration magic of Bruce Linsday of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Museum director Ted Doering had given restorer Bruce only a few components on April 10, 2014. We assembled all the components we had but a lot was missing. "There was no motor, no handlebars, no seat," there was only "a frame, a fork and a couple of wheels". Shown here is the result of Bruce working eight months recreating the Indian and now it looks like had just come off the assembly line. Bruce likes this part of the restoration best! Like a puzzle fitting together and starting to see it take shape. This will be the street version of the "Hendee Special" that won the Isle of Man in 1911. The restoration was completed in 2014. One hundred years after the original manufacture. |
